SOUTH WEST INDIAN OCEAN REGIONAL PROGRAMME

The South West Indian Ocean – the most biodiverse oceanic region in Africa and second-most biodiverse in the world – is under severe pressure from human activity. This pressure is threatening the well-being of people who rely on a healthy ocean for their income, food and livelihoods.

At WWF-SWIO, we collaborate across all sectors of society, sharing knowledge between territories and partnering across borders to protect the region’s life-giving oceans.
