Each of these projects is designed to contribute to our five-point plan for seascapes.
Once a particular concept or methodology has been proven at a given site, we then scale it across the SWIO region in three ways:
1. By advocating governments to embed it within policy and therefore ensure its broader implementation (scaling up);
2. By replicating it at other seascape sites (scaling out);
3. And by building capacity and networks to leverage wider change and to create a lasting enabling environment (scaling deep).
We call this our Scaling Up, Scaling Out and Scaling Deep model.
Together, these three scaling methods drive simultaneous shifts at multiple levels in society, which research has shown is necessary to bring about changes at scale that last.
